2019 Jeep Compass Review
The 2019 Jeep Compass hits the market with an elegant cabin, a powerful engine, and the off-road prowess Jeep is known for. Few vehicles offer this much versatility, especially in terms of getting a compact Jeep model with the same appeal as its larger siblings.
Drivers in Brockton, Randolph, and Stoughton can learn more about the 2019 Jeep Compass with our in-depth model review.
The Compass comes with a 2.4-liter MultiAir four-cylinder that produces 180 horsepower and 175 pound-feet of torque, mated to a six-speed manual transmission. A six-speed and nine-speed automatic are available, depending on the engine and trim level you choose, giving you options for how you want your engine to perform.
On the pavement, the Compass is a capable commuter that approaches fun and excitement when it’s pushed through the curving back roads. Off-road, however, the Compass hits its stride and takes on anything the trail throws at it. Specialized four-wheel drive, tow hooks, skid plates, an off-road suspension, the Selec-Terrain Management System, all-terrain tires, and extra ground clearance are included with the Trailhawk model as well.
The Compass seats five people on cloth upholstery, which is durable and comfortable for long distances. Leather upholstery, heated front seats, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and a heated steering wheel are also available, which enhance the interior comfort and luxury. Head- and legroom is abundant in both rows, providing the necessary space and comfort for passengers.
The cargo hold offers 27.2 cubic feet of space behind the rear seats, which fold down to reveal a maximum of 59.8 cubic feet of cargo space. The front-passenger seat folds forward as well, which provides additional cargo space for large or awkward items.
The Compass comes standard with a Uconnect infotainment system, two USB ports, voice commands, a six-speaker stereo, Bluetooth compatibility, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, and a 7-inch touch screen. This system often earns praise for being one of the easiest systems to use, thanks to its straightforward and responsive menu options and touch screen. An 8.4-inch touch screen is available as an upgrade, which offers sharp, clear graphics and a fully customizable display.
A rearview camera comes standard for the Compass, but many advanced safety features are available. Lane departure warning, forward-collision warning, lane keep assist, parking sensors, automatic high beams, blind-spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control, and rear cross-traffic alert are all optional, among others. These features are helpful in a variety of driving situations, giving you added awareness and visibility of the area around you to avoid a collision and stay safe.
